About FPC Mayfield

  • We come from a reformed tradition and are a PC(USA) worshiping community and part of the Presbytery of Western Kentucky. A core belief is centered on the grace of God, that undergirds all of life. Presbyterians confess their beliefs through statements that have been adopted over the years and are contained in the Book of Confessions. For more information on our denomination or beliefs, please visit presbyterianmision.org.

  • FPC Mayfield is the oldest church in Mayfield. A tragic tornado devastated the downtown area, and the church building was destroyed. Following the tornado, we held worship in the break room of a local cabinet factory. In the fall of 2023, we began meeting in a temporary location a 1325 Hwy 45 N, where we continue to meet. We will eventually rebuild at our downtown location and anticipate breaking ground within the next year.

  • We are liturgical in many ways, primarily utilizing the Revised Common Lectionary to guide us. We sing hymns, share together in liturgy and prayer, read scripture, and have a sermon. The highlight of worship for many is our passing of the peace as we view the church as a family. We come to the table to receive Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month.
